Open Art Workshops

All ages
$4/child for members; $5/child for non-members

Join museum educators to create your own art project. Drop-in anytime during the session to participate.

Super Science Saturdays

Saturday, Noon - 2:00 p.m.

Ages 5+

Free for members; non-members: $3/child plus museum admission

Families are invited to drop-in and participate in science workshops. Children will be introduced to the scientific method as they do experiments and observe the results.

Tot Tours

Fridays, 10:00 a.m.

Free with museum admission

Tot Tours take place on the third Friday of every month at 10 a.m. This program is for very young children and their caregivers. Activities include: mini gallery tours, story reading in the galleries and arts and crafts.

April 16 Dinosaurs

Art Sampler Series
Wednesdays, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.

Grades 3 - 7

Registration: $10/members; $12/non-members

Join museum educators each month to experiment with a variety of art-making techniques and materials. Create artworks based on what you see and learn in the galleries. Artistic ability is not required, but imagination and creativity are!

April 8 Art Glass

Discover Art Glass with the Morris Museum's exhibit on Art Glass. Learn about the different techniques used to make these works of art. Create your own 'art glass' piece using paints and a vase.

Free with museum admission

Visit the Morris Museum for an early afternoon of art and conversatio with the museum's curators and special guest speakers. Eachprogram will include a highlights tour through a featured exhibition, engaging discussion in the galleries, and light refreshments. Pre-registration is not required.

Apr 16 Art Quilts: Contemporary Expressions from the Collection of John M. Walsh III.

 

A Photographic Tour of The Gardens of the Vatican

Thursday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m.

                                          

Co-authors Linda Kooluris Dobbs and Kildare Dobbs will present a visual tour with commentary on their recent book, The Gardens of the Vatican. This photographic tour will reveal the beauty and complexity of the Vatican Gardens, and provide a history of gardens in general. The event includes a reception and book signing. Presented by the Friends of the Morris Museum. Free for members of The Friends, $5 for museum members, $10 for the general public.

 

Glassworks Studio Project

Saturday, April 10; 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Fee: $50 member; $60 non-member

Make your own picture frame with Morristown-based Glassworks Studio. In this workshop students will produce an art glass picture frame using glass strings to create grids which create bubbles to form a pattern.
